As we add more starches, fruits and veggies, we remember what Dr. John McDougall has taught us and add a B12 supplement. McDougall also recommends that if we are, pregnant or nursing, then take a minimum of 5 micrograms of supplemental vitamin B12 each day. 

Health professionals emphasize that before we make diet and exercise changes we check with our health provider-especially if we are seriously ill or on medication. As Dr. McDougall says, “Diet is powerful medicine.”
